About lavinia 


Lavinia is an actor trainer and theatre director. She specializes in teaching Stanislavsky and the Yat Method. She has an MA in Actor Training and Coaching from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (2015), London where she teaches as a Visiting Lecturer. She is a specialist in Movement Psychology derived from Yat Malmgren at Drama Centre London where she also taught BA and MA Acting. She initially trained with Master teacher and director, Tom Bentley-Fisher, and was director of the Yat Bentley Centre of Performance UK until recently moving back to Vancouver, she now teaches at the Yat/Bentley Centre for Performance, San Francisco. Lavinia is Co-Founder of Constructive Interference theatre company who create theatre about people living with disability. Lavinia coaches actors for film, tv and auditions and is passionate about encouraging diversity on stage and screen. She works as a dramaturge and script developer and specialises in working with new writing and exploring issues not normally seen on stage. She has a degree in Playwrighting from the University of Victoria (2001). Lavinia also has a passion for voice and movement – she works with the body and voice and has studied with Barbara Houseman.

 Special Skills 

I am co-founder of Constructive Interference theatre company. We produce new writing and develop scripts. Our aim is to promote the stories and voices of those living with ‘otherness’ or invisible disability. Our latest production is 'Take Them All Back' and 'Let Me Show You' a dark fairytale about climate change.
